New Construction Inspection

A final walkthrough of your newly built home before closing to identify builder oversights, cosmetic defects, and code issues while the builder is still on the hook.

What to Expect

Even brand-new homes come with defects — missed punch-list items, cosmetic flaws, code issues, and installation mistakes. Our new construction inspection is a full evaluation of your newly built home before you close, giving you leverage to ensure the builder corrects every issue before you take possession. We inspect structure, roofing, exterior, interior finishes, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances, and every major system. You receive a detailed report you can share directly with your builder for corrections under warranty.

What You're Risking If You Skip This

"New construction" does not mean "defect-free." We routinely find missing insulation, wrong-size breakers, improper flashing, unsealed penetrations, and appliances installed incorrectly on brand-new $500,000+ homes. If you close without an independent inspection, every defect becomes your problem — and builders are only obligated to fix what you documented before the deal closed.

Why Our New Construction Inspection Is More Thorough

We do not work for your builder. That is the entire point. We test every outlet, run every appliance, pull every crawlspace and attic panel, and apply the same detail we’d apply to a 50-year-old home. Then we hand you a builder-ready photo report so there is no argument about what needs to be fixed.

What's Included

Every new construction inspection from The Inspection Co includes:

Full system evaluation
Builder punch-list review
Code compliance checks
Interior & exterior finish review
Appliance testing
Photo-rich 24-hour report

Very thorough and professional! The inspection was detailed, and the report was clear and easy to understand—it really helped us understand what's going on with the house. Quick turnaround and great communication, too. Highly recommend!

This is the second house we've used Hometek for and the only inspectors we'd use in the future. Dean is super thorough and honest to work with and takes the time to answer all of your questions. I would highly recommend them.
